It has taken me a long time to figure out the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe for our family! This is all things crispy, chewy and simple to make without any chill time and uses minimal ingredients. When I was trying to figure out the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe I wanted a dough that didn't need a ton of ingredients, or chill time. When I want cookies, I want them right then and there. This ingredient is exactly that!
🍲 Ingredients
Butter- 2 sticks of softened butter. Or butter that has been slightly melted and cooled.
Flour – All-purpose flour is a kitchen pantry staple.
Baking soda – The leavening agent for the cookies.
Salt- Forgetting the salt in a cookie recipe is no good, you can even sprinkle some on top!
Sugar- Brown sugar and granulated sugar.
Eggs -2 eggs
👩🍳How to Make Chocolate Chip Cookies
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and set aside.
In a stand mixer on medium speed, whip the butter, sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy, for about 2 minutes; don’t over mix or the butter will separate. Add the vanilla, and eggs until just combined, scraping the bowl as you go.
Gradually add in your dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Fold in your chocolate chips.
On a parchment lined baking sheet, use an ice cream scoop to scoop your cookies onto the baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 13 minutes.
They might seem undercooked, but they will set up while cooling.
Leave the cookies on your baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire cooling rack.
Enjoy warm with a glass of milk!

Tips for maximum chewiness (but not required)
1. Use melted butter
Creates a denser, chewier cookie instead of cakey.
2. Brown sugar = chew
More brown sugar increases moisture; this recipe uses a 2:1 ratio of brown to white sugar.
3. Add an extra egg yolk
Extra fat means extra chew.
4. Slightly underbake
Cookies continue baking from residual heat.
5. Chill the dough
Prevents spreading and deepens flavor.

Freezer (baked)
- Up to 3 months, freeze then store in freezer bag.
Frozen dough balls
- Freeze scooped dough balls and bake straight from frozen: add +2 minutes to bake time.
