❤️ Why You’ll Love Baked Brie Sourdough
What’s not to love? This is a cheese wheel, covered in jam, and baked inside of a bread bowl. You can also make this with any flavor you like best. I love a dish that you can bring to a party that “wows” the whole group, and it took very minimal extra effort on my part.
🍲 Ingredients
Sourdough Bread – You can use any Boule (round) sourdough bread that you like best. I have a Beginner Artisan Loaf recipe under the “sourdough” tab you can check out if you need one.
Brie wheel – 8 oz brie wheel.
Jam – This is where you can make it any flavor you like most. Some of my favorites to use are fig jam and pepper jelly.
👩🍳 How to Make Brie Baked Sourdough
First, bake your sourdough bread and let it cool completely. I would suggest to slightly under bake your bread in the oven so when you bake it again with the brie inside it doesn’t over bake and turn into a crouton.
When your bread is fully cooled, holding your bread knife horizontally, cut the top portion of the bread off so there is a flat surface. Unwrap the brie wheel and set it directly on top of the bread to measure how big you need to circle cut out. Cut as deep and as wide as the size of your brie so it fits snuggly in the center of your loaf. Score the top of the wheel in a checkered pattern and spread your jam liberally over the top.
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and place your bread on a baking sheet or small cast iron skillet. Bake the bread for 15 minutes until the brie is nice and melty.
Slice and serve warm!
